Encouraging and Helpful Books, Podcasts, and Livestreams for Moms
“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” - Robert Browning
As moms we tend to fill everyone else’s cup and leave our own to drain dry. Life gets busy, our schedules are full, and we prioritize what needs to be done. It happens to every parent out there. It’s happened to me over the last few years, as I’ve realized that I haven’t been reading as much, I haven’t been listening to encouraging words… I haven’t made time for filling up my cup so I can better pour into my family.
Every cup needs a refill, and what better way to get that refill than to listen to, read, or watch encouraging, uplifting, positive words and thoughts that will help make our lives better and could even have a role in helping us be better individuals?
Today I’m sharing a few of the most encouraging and helpful books, podcasts, and livestreams for moms. While there are way more that I could list, I’m giving you just a handful, so the choices are not overwhelming… Because I know overwhelming is NOT what you need right now. So, pick a book, pick a podcast, or pick a livestream to watch this week and fill up your cup, Mom (or Dad). Give yourself a refill so you can be the best you can be.
Encouraging and Helpful Books
Notes from a Blue Bike by Tsh Oxenreider - I’m still not finished reading this book, but my goodness, it’s a good one. Tsh shares stories from her own life, along with encouraging words meant to help readers choose a slower way of life and to live life deliberately and with purpose. Every story has a relevancy and a purpose, and the way she weaves everything together keeps you reading page after page.
The Fringe Hours by Jessica N. Turner - As moms we have things we enjoy doing, whether they’re hobbies or things we’d love to turn into some sort of business. Jessica shares how to take advantage of those fringe moments and hours of time you may not be aware exist… She shares practical ways to turn those empty time slots into what you love to do and make time for you.
One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp - This book is a book that celebrates both grace and gratitude and how gratitude can change the way we live our lives forever. Simply put, gratitude is a game changer. The words Ann writes will speak to you as if she’s speaking to you personally. It’s an encouraging and applicable read for every mom.

Encouraging and Helpful Livestreams & Video
Amiyrah Martin of 4 Hats and Frugal on Periscope and/or Facebook Live - Amiyrah is very encouraging and shares practical life tips for things like how to plan your day, ways to save money, tips for menu planning, and so much more. She has a long list/short list system that is an absolute life changing system when it comes to productivity. And the great thing about livestreaming? You can ask questions and hear the answers right there during the episode. You will walk away inspired after every single video. She’s also started a very supportive and informative Facebook group called A Full Life on Less that you may want to join.
Emily Thompson of Nap Time Creations on Facebook Live - Love to craft and create? Emily is one of my favorite bloggers to watch because she sews up a project right there on the screen. You’ll find all sorts of crafty, creative inspiration through her livestreams and video creations.
