It seems like my kids outgrow their clothes and toys as often as the weather changes in Arkansas! With each growth spurt I found myself boxing up the outgrown stuff and stacking it in the storage building. It didn’t take long for our storage building to get full, and then I started thinking about my options for all that stuff.
Garage sale? Too much work.
Sale online? Way too much work.
Donation? I get nothing for it.

Sometime after checking phone notifications, restarting the dryer, and staring at your growing to-do list, you hear a little voice.
The voice asks for milk. Chocolate milk.

Over the years, I have sold and bought clothes for my girls at Rhea Lana of Northwest Arkansas. Let me just say, I'm a huge Rhea Lana fan. I shopped the fall sale last year and found all kinds of darling boutique clothes for amazing prices! I have also bought precious shoes, costumes and toys.

Ever since I was a little girl, I looked forward to the day where I would be a mommy and have my own little girl to dress up and play with. Now that I am in that phase of my life, let me tell you...it is FUN!

Making things – drawing, painting, playing with clay – is important for kids. Arts and crafts develop motor and critical thinking skills, patience, creativity and problem solving. Depending on the project they can also give you a few moments’ peace while making dinner, or be something fun you can work on together to create cherished memories. But it can be difficult to encourage creativity in your kids if you don’t feel very crafty yourself.
The good news is it’s not that hard to get started.

The nice trophy, dinner out, maybe a pedicure. Super-Mom status is hard to come by, but clothing your kids should not be that hard. Clothing your children at Rhea Lana’s will make you Super Mom, believe me! I was introduced to Rhea Lana’s consignment sales when I lived in Little Rock, AR. I had just become a mom to a fun little boy and didn’t know how we were going to be able to afford all the clothes, shoes, accessories, and toys that growing boys need.

“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” – William Wordsworth
Journaling might sound like a complicated task for children. But writing down thoughts on paper can be as simple as a few scribbles or as fancy as the directions for an original Lego creation. For young children, journaling can begin with pictures and alphabet letters and sometimes little marks in a notebook. Simple writing allows children to apply reading skills and their knowledge of alphabet letters and sounds in a practical way.

I've been a busy mom of four boys for almost 12 years now. My oldest will be 12 in September and to be honest, prior to just recently, I hadn't really shopped consignment sales before because I didn't have a need to. Over the years, I just collected, stored, and reused all of my boys' clothing items.
And now, everything's changed. We're expecting our first baby GIRL this April! Of course, after all the excitement, panic soon set in.
