Father’s Day… When dads are honored with their own special day of the year. Dads have an integral part in the workings of a family. They’re heroes to their kids. Some dads are stay-at-home dads, some work all day (or all night) outside the home, some dads are away from home much of the time either on deployment or working a faraway job. We love dads, and they deserve to have even more than just this one special day.

We all think of Rhea Lana sales as being the best place to buy kids’ clothing and shoes, and you probably hit up the toy and book sections while you’re there, too.
But did you know you can often find quality, inexpensive craft supplies at your local Rhea Lana's? It’s true!
At a recent sale on half-price day I picked up a whole bag of plastic jewels for $1.50 and a flower loom kit, new in the box, also for $1.50.
Here are some tips for shopping for craft supplies at Rhea Lana, and ideas for what to do with them when you bring them home.

We’re currently at that wonderful time of year when it’s almost summertime, but we’re still caught in the rainy days of spring. Depending where we live, we enjoy a few rainy days scattered amongst warm, sunny days. A rainy day, especially when you’ve enjoyed several nice days in a row, can certainly throw a wrench in things; but it doesn’t have to.
Writing from personal experience, when I make things available to my boys, they’re much less likely to spend a rainy day on the couch and more likely to get up and do something.

Purchasing secondhand clothing is such fun: the ability to find clothes at a lower price is efficient for our finances and our time. Buying clothing for children is especially thrilling since we are lucky if the kids stay the same size for even one school year. The next time you’re ready to shop for more clothes for your growing children, look for these elements to help make the most of their wardrobe, and extend the life of each piece.

Most parents know that the more time we can spend reading to our kids and the more access they have to books the better off they will be academically.
A 2014 study found that having books at home was a strong predictor of children’s academic success across 42 countries studied. The presence of more books was particularly important in lower-income households.

If you’re like me, most of the pictures you have of your kids these days are blurred snaps from your smartphone. When I do remember to get my “big” camera out, I usually take about a thousand photos just to get one or two good ones. And when I say “good,” I am talking about Facebook- or blog-post worthy, but probably not framing on the wall-worthy. Getting kids to cooperate for photos is hard enough without having that Pinterest image in your head taunting you.

Moms, tell me this has happened to you too. You stand, surveying your closet that is brimming with clothing, shoes, accessories and you think, “I have nothing to wear.” Take that frustration and multiply it times ten and you will understand what it can be like to shop for boys.  Whether you’re a new boy mom or a bit more broken in, you likely know that feeling of walking into a children’s clothing store or department and seeing racks and racks of pink and purple with only a slim section dedicated to the boys.

Consigning at Rhea Lana’s is definitely worth the work that goes into it, but there are some things you can do through the year and during sale time to make the whole process easier for yourself.
Keeping Organized
One of the things that makes it easier to do your consigning is if you sort and organize clothes, toys, shoes and other items through the year. Keep a box or bag in your child’s closet – ideally with some extra hangers – where you can toss clothes and shoes as they outgrow them.
