What changes must I make in how I run my sale to use this system?
The biggest change will be in how you prepare for the sale. Before the sale every item must be entered into the system. Again, ladies don't mind doing this - they actually enjoy it!
The other big change is at the end of the sale. You won't be pouring over index cards and punching a calculator. You will be printing and stapling reports which have already been calculated.
Tell me more about setting up the sale.
Consignors go to your web site. They read about your sale, including when and where. If they want to participate, they click that they are ready to sign up. After they enter their information (which you will have SOLE control over), they will then link over to our web site - BUT THE THEME AND COLORS MATCH YOUR WEBSITE. They don't even realize they are at another site. They are trained how to input their items and can begin entering items immediately. When they have finished entering, you will work with them to get item descriptions and unique bar codes on each of their items. More details are available once you begin working with us.
How does the Point-of-Sale software work?
Since each of the items has its own bar code, a bar code scanner at check out recognizes each item and calculates a total for each sale. If a bar code is unreadable (because the barcode label was damaged) the checker can manually input the code and record the item. Check out goes quickly since no one is doing any math. The main concern of the checkers is that each tag is accounted for and each item is scanned.
How do I settle to each of my consignors after the sale?
Since each item sold is scanned into inventory, the settlement information is automatically available when the sale is over. At the end of the sale, once you have made sure all tags have been scanned in, you can print out reports for each consignor and also print checks for each consignor. These are available for them when they pick up their items a day or two after the sale.
What equipment will I need to use the system?
The first thing to know is that the system is not for everybody because of the computers involved. It takes a certain amount of computer savvy to be successful with the system. If you are familiar with the web, email, spreadsheets, etc. you should be fine. We will give you all the training you need to be successful.
How much does the system cost?
